Hey, Femboys! It's your girl, Lisa LaBelle, back with another delectable treat that will blow the roof off (and not just my dining hall) - Fusion! Today, we're talkin' spicy Korean-French fusion that'll make you scream "Oo la la!"
Here's what you'll need:
Spicy Gochujang Risotto
- 1 cup Arborio rice
- 4 cups chicken broth, warmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions for garnish
Now, let's get this party started!
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for another minute, till fragrant.
Now comes the star of the show!
Add the Arborio rice and stir to coat with the oil and mix in a bit of that magic gochujang. Cook for 2-3 minutes or till the rice is coated in the spicy paste.
Add the warm chicken broth, one cup at a time, stirring constantly and allowing each cup to be absorbed before adding the next. You want it to come together like my friend Emma's love life - slowly but surely!
Once the rice is cooked and creamy, stir in the heavy cream, grated ginger, salt, and pepper.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
And there you have it, Femboys! A flavorful Korean-French fusion risotto that'll make your taste buds do the cha cha slide!
Now, let me know what your favorite fusion dishes are - I need some inspiration for my next blog post... perhaps a Spicy Tuna Poke Burger or an Asian-Glazed Chicken Shawarma?
Stay tuned, y'all!
